The construction industry is increasingly exploring artificial intelligence (AI) to improve efficiency, productivity, and decision-making. According to a recent benchmarking report, nearly two-thirds of companies rate their AI maturity as “average” or higher, with many experimenting with AI tools in specific areas of their operations. Operational gains are the biggest driver for adoption, with nearly all respondents citing improved efficiency as a top motivation, alongside better project outcomes, risk management, and staying competitive.

Despite the excitement, widespread integration remains a challenge. The report highlights common hurdles including data security concerns, limited internal expertise, and inconsistent data quality. Still, the outlook is overwhelmingly positive: 69% of respondents expressed excitement about AI’s potential to transform the industry, while only a small fraction remain cautious or skeptical.
